Roots of Heartful Presence
Heartful Presence Counselling and Consulting was born from a passion for holistic, client-centered wellness. We have worked to create a space where counselling clients and supervisees build insight, self-compassion and make meaningful change.
Insight
Understanding ourselves
Pema Chodron talks about the process of "befriending yourself." Jenn believes that true healing is a product of this process, continually deepening our understanding, compassion and care for ourselves. As we travel on our journeys, we can fight ourselves, our past and our parts. Or, we can move towards ever-deepening insight and ever-growing kindness towards ourselves. Whatever therapy oro approach is used, Jenn hopes to continue building this capacity in clients.
Creative Curiosity
Connecting with ourselves
Through reflection, experimentation and creativity, we deepen our understanding of our patterns. Clients can then work to built friendship with themselves. Jenn believes that when we are curious and/or creative, our critical, angry and afraid parts become less dominant and we can work to build a more compassionate and integrated sense of self.
Who I Am - From Jenn
I have always been a hard worker and committed to making the world a better place for everyone. In recent years, like many of my colleagues, I have struggled with burnout. I have had to learn to find balance, nourishment and play in my life. So now, when I'm not working, I love to dive into creativity. Whether it's cooking, writing, crochet or mixed media art, I find my creative pursuits sustain and nourish my work. Being a therapist can be a challenging calling and as I learn to truly care for myself, I want to help others do so as well. I have worked hard to acknowledge my own patterns and distill how I want to be different by using the same tools I use in my therapy. I strive to enjoy my work, and even when we're talking about difficult things, I connect with my own hope and optimism. I believe every client and supervisee I work with wants to find health, happiness and to step away from their patterns. I look forward to meeting you and hope that I can be part of your journey to peace, healing and contentment.
